Alicante overview

Ancient Alicante sits down on the Spanish southeast coast and is a popular hub and gateway to the Costa Blanca, or White Coast. While Alicante boasts millennia of history that ranges from the Romans through to the Moors, etcetera, most visitors head here for the beautifully beaches and there are bags of them to choose from. An impressive castle overlooks the main beach, San Juan, from a hilltop vantage point where you can enjoy all sorts of water sports activities. History buffs will probably want to see the oldest bullring in Spain, while party goers will be bowled over by the profusion of pubs and clubs as much as gastronomes will salivate over Alicante tapas.
