Burgos overview

Sat in the middle of low down northern/central Spain, Burgos is a bit of an unlikely destination in that you wouldn’t really come to Spain just to see it. It does, however, make a more than pleasant stop-off between Bilbao and Madrid, although is perhaps a little too far as a day trip from either. If you are into religion and religious structures, Burgos is a must, having as it does more houses of God than any other city in the country. Burgos Cathedral is a beauty of a structure and sits bang in the middle of the town, while the Church of Santa Agueda also has impressive themes and forms. Burgos’ staid daytime persona gives-way after dark as the city comes alive with thousands of university students.
