Costa Daurada overview

The Costa Daurada, or Golden Coast, is a part of the wider reaching Costa Brava, which runs most of the way down the eastern coast of Spain from the French border. It mainly takes in the towns and resorts just to the north and south of Barcelona and has the resort of Salou as its main centre. Salou has the best beaches and hotels and is surrounded by history. Tarragona is just up from Salou and is awash with ancient structures - aqueducts, amphitheatres and churches – and also comes with a striking marina and rugged coast. You also have the likes of laid-back Empuriabrava, which is more for the discerning type and boasts an even more impressive marina. Girona and Barcelona’s airports are the main entry points for the Costa Daurada.
