Granada overview

Granada Travel Guide
Strewn across a hillside within the Andalusia region of southern Spain under the guise of the lofty Sierra Nevada Mountains, Granada is one of Spain’s richest culture centres. It is best known for the Alhambra pleasure palace; a monumental Islamic structure overlooking the town. Granada is a good escape from the heat and bustle of the Costa del Sol to the south, yet is also fairly bustling itself so is best visited in the spring or autumn. Apart from the stunningly beautiful features and forms of the manicured terrace gardens of Alhambra, the nearby Albaicin (old town) is also a major draw, as are the Generalife gardens. Skiers can hit the slopes of the Sierras in the winter, and Malaga, with its sweet wine, is also within reach.
