La Coruna overview

La Coruna Travel Guide
La Coruna, or A Coruna, is of the Spanish Armada fame in northwest Spain. An historic naval city where the crushed Spanish Armada set sail from to take on the English in 1588, La Coruna is also known for its series of rocky beaches and amazing seafood restaurants. It is Galicia’s second city and has many fine historical structures to check out, including that of the 2,000-year-old Roman Tower of Hercules lighthouse and a slew of museums. The best beach to lounge on is Riazor, lying as it does right in the town, while Santa Cristina is a bit farther out and is quieter. Religious types can head out of town and do the city of Santiago de Compostela.
