Lloret de Mar overview

Lloret de Mar Travel Guide
Lloret de Mar is the Costa Brava’s top beach resort town. While not as noisy and high profile as the likes of Torremolinos, Ibiza or Benidorm, Lloret de Mar does boast a buzzing atmosphere and also offers oodles of panache. The humble fishing village-cum-pumping resort is busiest with package tourists, where week-long deals can be had for a snip. Lloret has half a dozen beaches, with the main city beach and nearby Fenals Beach the most popular. Water sports are fully available here and there is also a theme park, water park and aquarium for the kiddies. Unfortunately most all of Lloret de Mar’s historic splendour has been lost to hotels and wide roads, although there is a partially ruined castle to gawk at, Sta Caleta’s castle, and archaeological digs. You can get in via Girona or Barcelona’s airports.
