Toledo overview

Toledo Travel Guide
If you don’t have the time to spend a night or two in Toledo, don’t worry it can easily be done as a day trip from Madrid. It’s a wonderful old city that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Try and avoid visiting at weekends during the summer months because it gets so packed to its limits with tourists that it becomes hard to appreciate the beauty of the place. The best way to get around the old quarter is to dust off your walking shoes and wander. There are maps of the old quarter but they are not very helpful and eventually every road leads into the Plaza de Zocodover anyway. Just off the square is the Calle Comecio, which is where the shops and Toldeo craft shops are and visitors should simply follow this road to visit the cathedral.
